Norfolk Environmental Credits is working to enable sustainable development, which balances protecting and enhancing the biodiversity of our natural environment with delivering much needed homes and development opportunities. Balancing the environmental, social, and economic considerations is a big challenge. We are a not-for-profit company where developers buy credits and environmental schemes benefit from the investment generated by the sale of credits.

We are providing solutions for developers that enable them to build sustainably, and at the same time protecting the special areas of conservation within the Norfolk Broads and the SSSI designated river Wensum. Norfolk Environmental Credits is working on all the issues below, with our initial focus on reducing nutrient loads in Norfolk rivers.

We are a not-for-profit company investing in local schemes that mitigate nutrient loads entering our waterways.

We sell the resulting nutrient neutrality credits, for both phosphorus and nitrogen, to developers to enable sustainable housing development by offsetting the nutrients arising from the new homes.
